Devotional: 31 Days in Psalm 31

In Psalm 31, we find David hiding from an angry, jealous king, Saul, who is trying to kill him. David’s struggle can sometimes parallel our lives, and we find it much more comfortable “hiding” in an emotional cave than wandering outside. It’s dangerous out there!

But the cave becomes a place where we can still our hearts and learn to trust God more. David aired out his crazy, raw emotions in Psalm 31.  This devotional will look at God and scripture from a different perspective. One in which we feel crushed, but still know God’s got us.

We may feel abandoned, but know we are not alone!

David worked through his emotions to find his way back to trusting God over and over again. The presence of trouble, the fact that you’re in a storm, even if you’re standing on the banks of a “Red Sea” and you feel like the enemy’s army is pressing from behind – it doesn’t mean you missed God. David was following and honoring God and found himself in a cave.

This devotional takes 31 days to work through this powerful psalm. We’ll see how David finds his resolve, and how we can find our own.

Discover how David worked through open, honest, and real emotions and landed right before the throne of God, still trusting Him for the journey.

We can do the same thing.

Excerpt from Day 16: My Times are In Your Hand
